Problem with my X2

Recommended Posts

I bought my X2 from Cabelas last year and have only used it about 5 times. When I was gone on my trip last weekend I noticed the middle seam stitching that runs to the highest point on the outside is coming undone on both sides. I love my X2 but this is a dissapointment. Does anyone have any suggestions? I thought someone posted on here that they had a problem with their tent and Clam made them send in a chunk of material and then sent out a new one. That would be awesome if they did that as I am not close enough to stop by their place. Should I just take it back to Cabelas and let them deal with it?

I had this problem with the stiching on the "porch" corners where the tube slides through the tent....I called customer service and I had to destroy the tent by cutting out the logos and 6 inches of the zipper and senidng it to them.....it was the end of the season and they sent me a new tent in October.....ask for a new strip to secure the tent to the tub also......The Clam customer service gal was a pleasure to work with and I contacted her through e-mail after the first call.......

Well I called today and since I don't have a receipt to show when I purchased it I have to somehow try to have Cabelas track down the purchase for me. What a pain in the Arse. I have barely used this thing. UGHHH!

I bought mine a year ago December, never ended up using it that year. Used it this December, riiiip. They gave me the same run around. Was it purchased with a check card, visa, etc? Ours was purchased with a Cabelas card, so that helped.

I talked to one of the guys from Clam Corp at the ice fishing show this year and he said that there was a problem with that seam coming undone from last years X2's.

Good luck.

Did you return it to Cabelas then? I may have to go that route. If they know there was a problem that year why give someone the run around? Just replace it for the people.

maybe someone has a receipt they can give you......might not be the most ethical thing to do but I know that the product they put out last year had some problems so I don't c why they would give you the run around in the first place...in fact the X2 has only been around for 2 years so they know that it couldn't be that old!!

I thought about that also but I don't think it should have to get to that point. Especially if they know they had problems with them. I bought a used 1992 Toyota 4 runner with 114K miles in 96 I believe. The head gasket was bad on it because they tried a thinner gasket that year. Toyota replaced it free of charge. I asked the dealer why they covered it and they said they don't want a bad product out there. Very concerned with their image. I wish more companies were like them. I know cabelas CS is top notch also.

I made a print out of the cabelas card points with the date and had to go to Clam in Medina for a new one. They were pretty stingy on handing that new tarp over, but they did.

I basically told them that I have a fishing trip paid and planned for the next day, just to speed it up. They wanna play games, I'll play em right back.

I also thought about the receipt deal with a friend. Shouldn't have to come down to that if you know of a problem.
