Fishinguy40
My brother-in-law and myself are trying to plan a fishing weekend proabably the weekend after Memorial Day. We want to tent camp and will have an 18ft boat with 140HP motor so water access and boat/trailer parking is important. We don't want to travel any further than 2-3 hours from the south metro. So does anyone have any suggestions on lakes and campgrounds. Oh yeah, we also want "good" fishing.

kdawg
father hennipen state park on the south side of mille lacs should fit the bill. Either look into reservations or get there a day or two earlier than the masses, otherwise you won't have a spot.

chasineyes
We don't want to travel any further than 2-3 hours from the south metro. On that weekend, 2-3 hours might get you to rogers or elk river!!!

echotrail
Give the Alexandria, MN. area consideration, it's about 150 miles from the TC area. There is a state campground on Lake Carlos as well as plenty of private owned resorts, some with campsites. There are lots of lakes in the area and the fishing can be great that time of year.
