I would never go without a flasher again. They are worth every penny, whether you get an FL-8, FL-20, vexilar, marcum, hummingbird, whatever. Worth every penny.

Like others said they are worth every penny. I was not a believer until I borrowed a buddies at Otter Tail lake. I caught a bunch of fish by jigging. Watching that red line smack your jig is one of life's simple pleasures. I went out and bought one the next day. I do outfish the guys that don't use one pretty much evry time.

What does a decent Vexilar cost new? or used? I'm sure in the summer a used one may be cheaper...

New you can get an FL-8 for $280. Can get a good used one for $200.

first off welcome to FM and ik its hard to have money when your youngi'm assuming your between 16-20 and cuz thats what i thought bout earlier this year but i put mine on layaway to help out with the cost and well its already paid for itself if you've got extra money get a second battery if not just charge it each time and you'll be good to go
