I've had mine for about 4 or 5 years now and i like it alot. It big with lots of room,but i can still load and unload it by myself in the back of the truck with no problems and for the price ya can't beat it.

ya im thinkin of gettin one cuz my other house broke last weekend and they have em on sale for really good price. So u dont have any problems draggin it around and its not to heavy?

I had one before I bought the Grand Caravan. The III is a good shack with lots of room, but beware the sled is very thin. Put some runners on it, even if towing by hand. Cross the road a few times without and you are looking for trouble. Good luck and enjoy!

I wouldn't go as far as saying the sled is thin, sure it's not as thick or heavy duty as some other ones but i wouldn't call it thin. I don't have runners on mine and have no trouble draging it anywhere.

yep, they aren't cheap, but $$$ well spent. You can also use something laying around like snomobile slides or even an old set of skis. Having anything to take the wear is better than burning a hole in your sled. On the shack I have now the sled is much thicker and I still have hyfax runners on it.

I have had an eskimo for a couple of years and I would agree the plastic is pretty thin and to add to that so is the canvas. Mine has small tears all over it and doesn't hold heat well. If you want something that is cheap and light and aren't too concerned about how durable it is go with an eskimo. If you want something that is alot more durable and will last you a long time go with a clam or an otter. I am already looking at buying an X2 and wish I would have to begin with. As with anything else you get what you pay for.....

I've had mine for 3 years now and have had no problems with it.

Like the others said, get the plastic runners and put them on before you put it together. Much easier, and will make your tub last longer.

The canvas is lighter than some of the other houses, but I haven't had any problems. Like anything else, it'll last as long as you take care of it.

I bought one new for $289 last month and the house is more than great for the money. I have used it 10 times so far and have no compliants. Last week it was 10 below outside and with a small mr heater on we didn't even put our jackets on. I have been dragging mine by hand everywhere I go, it does get heavy after half a mile or so.

I have a quick flip 3 that is now on its 6th season. I inherited it, so I guess one could say for the price I got it, I shouldn't complain at all. So, don't take the next few things as "complaints", think of them as "tidbits of information"...

1. The unit I have has the built in bench seat. If I was to buy this unit, I would skip the optional built-in bench. It isn't that comfortable and it limits your modification capabilities (for instance, putting in a wodden platform for the dog to sit on). Yes, I can take off the bench, and I just might do that next summer. But then I'll have a bench that my dad paid something like 90 bucks for just sitting there doing nothing

2. If you have a tonneau cover on your pickup, the quick flip 3 will most likely NOT fit under it. Whoever designed the brackets on the side of it did not think very hard about transporting the thing. They are about 2-3 inches taller than the bed rails on my pickup.

3. The plastic C-shaped clamps on the support poles have broken a couple times for me. The unit was not under warranty, and Eskimo charged me for the replacement units. While the cost was trivial to me, (like a buck a piece or something plus some shipping charge), I use things like that to gauge whether or not I would buy from a company again. In this case, I think it would have been well worth it for Eskimo to just eat the cost and ship those to me for free...

As for towing and the plastic being thin, I guess I haven't gotten a micrometer or caliper out to compare it, but to me it actually seems fairly decent. I have drug that thing around for, as I've said, 6 years now, without a problem.

Good luck on your purchase. I would recommend going to the store and checking them out in person. Also it's getting to the point where no matter what house you buy, they should be starting to go on sale, so there will be bargains on many models at many stores. What I'm getting at is that you might be able to pick up an otter or something for an eskimo price if you get lucky somewhere. Who knows.

Season 4 with mine, I love it. As long as the snows packed you can drag it easily. I also agree on the Hy Fax runners, makes a world of difference.
