rod holders for in my portable

I am sure this has already been discussed so I am sorry if it is a repeat but I am looking for some rod holders to attach to the poles of my portable to be able to keep my rods close to the sides of the house and out of the way. Running slip bobbers mostly.

They make a small plastic rod holder that locks on the pole. It is called the grove i think. I like them. It looks like a blue 6 inch long tube with a knotch cut out for it to slide on the pole.

What type of house? I really like my Otter rod holders. They mount to the frame of the house and telescope and move side to side. Works great on all lengths and types of rods.

Are they those yellow ones? Do they attach to the actual poles or just where they attach to the sled? I have an otter and was looking at those.

If you're handy, I made my own.

Fits on most pipes just fine. Wing nut allows you to slide them up and down for different rod lengths. I have 6 in my house and stick ready rods in all of them in case I need to switch it up.

Make the tube as long as you need to accommodate the length of handle. Make sure you drill the connecting hole in line with the long cut on the "T". The picture shows a twisted view. Kinda hard to draw the other way and show what I mean.

Check out todays tackle. They make several different styles from bucket mounts to rod straps that hold you rod by hanging off the poles.

eve21: Yeah, the yellow ones. I got one early last year for my Cabin. Had my doubts about the design, but loved it so much I had to go and get a second one. If your Otter is newer, you already have the holes pre-drilled in the frame for it... down by the spot where all of your poles come together.

I use my Otter rod holders alot. They will move around and I believe will work with just about any ice rod out there.

I bought two of "The Groove" rod holders. They work great and clip on to the poles very easily. I keep one n my rod bag so I always have one ready to use.
