caseymcq
We did the turkey in the turkey fryer for our daughter's b-day party in October. It was a good way to go. Keeps a good chunk of the cooking mess outside. We shot it up with some marinade before and it turned out really well. IMO, that is the only way to cook a turkey. Quick, easy and the turkey never dries out. The biggest job in all of it was thawing the turkey.

prov1900
Grilled pork loin. Cheap, elegant, and feeds a lot of people.

pinkfloyd4ever
Funny, had to re-read there. Fire up the grill put on some burgers and dogs. Baked beans, potato chips + dip, gotta have dip.
Bohunk
I did French Dips for my daughter's 4th b-day/son's baptism party. Fed 20 people. Very inexpensive, used a beef roast in the crockpot, cooked to medium rare, shaved thin, and made an au jus. Served with steak buns+ caesar salad+cheesy potatoes. Went over well, not much left. Another idea to throw out are fajitas, steak/chicken. Have done that before and very easy to prep, let guests put their own together. prov1900
Cheesy potatoes are a must. Can't have a gathering in the winter without those.
