Non-Res Outdoors Card (ON)

Just wondering how much the Ontario Non-resident fishing card is. I would like to fish for 2 days, what do I need to buy?

The card is $8 and you have to have it, good for three years and is the first step toward a long overdue automoated system.

You'll need an 8-day license, they go for about $25 U.S.

The exchange rate is supposed to be 22 percent now (favors U.S.) but most places are only giving 5-10. This is always a problem because you need cash to buy licenses.

For all else, use your credit card to get the best exchnage.

If you go to Rainy River Sports in Fort Frances, they accept a card for license purchases--I have bought mine there for the last 5 years and never had a problem using a card.

Yep--great guy. He parties a bit at my house during the summer. He is good friends with my neighbor Jimmy Kovich. He even sneeks out a pizza or two for us.

You can also buy your license at the tourism building directly across from the Canadian customs building. There is a currency exchange booth located there as well.

What does a guy need for riding his snowmobile into Canada?

Just your registration and proof of insurance. If you plan on riding the OFSC groomed trails, then you need a OFSC trail permit.

Just looking to take a 20 minute ride to a lake. Don;t know if it would be on a OHSC trail or not.

If you just running the lake you will be good. The OFSC trails are marked with signs and stakes.

Rainy Lake Sports in Fort Frnaces charges a pretty hefty fee to use your card for licnese purchases, I was just there on Wednesday. FYI. I think it was 10 percent.

Can you ride a sled there and pick one up? Not familiar with the town at all. Wondering if we could ride sleds from Crane to Ft. Frances and pick one up if we decide to go into Canada.

It would be difficult to get there on sled. The river out front doesn't freeze the best.

I have licenses at my store, 24 hours a day, we never close, so if you are late at night or early in the morning and in Kenora, and in need of a license, We've Got It! We also take credit cards for licenses.

cool. hope to get down there this winter yet to visit. might do some snowmobiling down there one weekend in Feb. we did last year and put on about 500 miles one weekend.

ok i am confused. where can you get the Non res outdoor cards, is that at the same place you get your license?

The outdoors card is filled out at the same time you get your license. If they have one, they have the other. The card is $9 and the season sport license is $68 for a total of $77 Canadian. The fishing license is quite a bit bigger in size than the previous years. The outdoor card is a separate piece of paper and is the temporary card until the MNR mails out the actual card.
