we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 18, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 18, 2009 I think it's more play calling than T-Jacks issue. Sometimes Chili should get agressive instead of so predictable and open up the air attack a bit more. That would really open things up for all-day!!!!The West Coast offense is designed to use passes like running plays. Quick hitters. Yet Chili seems afraid to pass more or at least use the play action. Why not have Chester and AP out there at the same time. Those plays with kleinsasser were creative and about time. LMITOUT
MN's offense needs more screen plays.
james_walleye
I'll tell you why, because he has no idea how to get them on the field at the same time. He has not a clue on how to create a favorable matchup for his team.
koonie
Chilly and his pet project should both go. Chilly was supposed to be the man behind McNabbs sucess and therefore he was going to turn Tjack into a qb as well. Not gonna happen. Tjacks mechanics are the same now as when he came into the league. Horrible. He's got some ability but if he isn't taught the proper mechanics he has no chance of performing well on a consistent basis. Chilly didn't do his job with Tjack or Tjack isn't capable of making the changes. I hope they are both gone next year. Only bad thing is there aren't many options out there as far as vet qbs go. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 18, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 18, 2009 T-Jacks mechanics are ok. It's his tentativeness that got him the bad reviews. The play calling leaves a lot to be desired. I'd like to see it opened up a bit to see what T-Jack can really do. rushing
With as much as we run the ball we hardly ever run any play action plays and we NEVER put any effort into disguising hand offs. It's a testament to AP that he is even is able to do as well as he does with such terrible play calling.
Sandmannd
I agree that the play calling is bad, but maybe they can't open it up with T-jack. Who knows, but something better give.
koonie
The play calling does leave a lot to be desired. I'm sorry but Jacksons mechanics are not okay. They are terrible. Plain and simple.
koonie
One thing I should also have mentioned. Our offensive line play this year was awful from a pass protection standpoint. Kind of hard for the QBs to perform well when they have heat on them pretty much every play.
FISHINGURU
there was a few times where i seen a good call on the field but our qb's didn't make the plays or try to air it out...berrian is open alot...just getting our qb to see it is a big enough challenge....the next challenge is putting the ball where it needs to be thrown....open in the nfl is having a guy beat by a step or two even if they don't appear to be wide open....we don't have a qb that can recognize it or we don't have qb's ever capable of making the throw consistantly.maybe more protection will help but a west coast offense is designed to get the ball out of the qb's hand quick..its a timing offense...which looks boring and dull when you have no timing and hold on to the ball.we never take a quick slant or screen 40,50,60 yards to the house...its available all day when they blitz us 70,80,90% of the time to stop ap and get into t-awesomes face.here we go...i know i'm not quite the mastermind that chill-rad is but how about a proform...chester and ap in the backfield..taylor on the left ap on the right...fake the hand off to ap to the right...the whole defense keys in on ap like always..in the meantime taylor and the line slide out to the left for a well designed big play screen....you can even spice it up and have the wr lined up on the left to run a quick slant to the middle to draw the defenders with him...to much to handle?yeah i know it sounds tough lol... but you'd think you'd atleast give it one try in 2 seasons muahahahahahahahahahahahaha....i thought this was a copy cat league? how come we haven't copied 1 thing that the other teams do that work...even though we have better pieces in place to pull it off.is the coach truely that stubborn and a moron to have it be his way or no way...and only his ideas are the best? come on ladies lets try a direct snap to ap or chester...or give the ball to ap and see the whole defense swarm him as he throws it down field to a wide open wr....it would work in a big game forsure cause we never do any of it.is it all a little to exciting to step out of the box for a play or two a game for chilly? koonie
Whenever I hear west coast offense I think of the 49ers back when they had Montana, Rice, Taylor, Craig and later Young. Quick slants and outs with a lot of YAC. Seemed like they always took one of those slants to the house every game. Things change and evolve and now you don't see that pro set or the older style WCO.This WCO we run seems doesn't seem to fit our personnel. Give me a power running game with a good mix of play action any day.We need a mauler RT and an athletic, fast WR that will go across the middle to pair with Berrian. FISHINGURU
i remember when steve young said he'd come out of retirement anyday to be able to play qb for the vikings...he said nothing could be easier then seeing 8-9 man fronts every play...he said it as a joke but its true. MarFish
T- Jac is fine what becouse he threw an INT to philly so what every QB throws INTS it part of the game why don't you try getting good recivers instead of a dud in a guy that has only caught 2-3 TD's in 3 years becouse he is hurt 3/4 of every year Hello RICE. Also someone like Moss who can really only run the long ball Hello Berrian. And a guy that is far from a superstar but his the best thay got WADE that would help the RUN,RUN,PASS O of the vikings and mybe thay would be able to open up a D with a 4 or 5 reciver set just MAYBE
james_walleye
How bout AP in the middle of a bunch formation and throw him a WR screen and get him in space. How about lining up AP as a single WR on the outside with Chester in the backfield just to make a defense think, even its a handoff. How about making some sort of effort to get the ball to AP in space in the passing game like 31 other teams would do. How about making an effort to get AP and Chester on the field together like 31 other teams would be doing.
Sandmannd
MarFish, someone "like Moss" is once in a lifetime and it was "P'd" away. No way he shoulda been traded. If the coach can't control a player of that caliber you fire the coach and get a new one. My 2 cents. But you won't get that type of receiver here again for a very long time unless you get really lucky.
james_walleye
that was brutal to try and read.......
MarFish
Not saying you will get someone with the speed and catching abilitys of MOSS i am saying he is moss like speed and only runs North and there are some great free agent recivers out there you can't throw the ball when your recivers can't get open
