Lowrance H2OC question

Is there an easier way to find your waypoint on these units? This is what I did yesterday ice fishing. Got on the ice and hit find my waypoint on the unit then hit by name and then choose my way point and then enter. The only thing that appears on my unit is in the lower right hand corner of the screen is an arrow and how far you are from your waypoint. This would be fine for me but as I got within 100 feet from my way point I would walk in the direction that it would tell me and after I got to 75 feet from it the distance and feet would start going up and then the arrow would point in a different direction telling me I was 115 feet away. This was very frustrating I was walking in circles before I would even get to my spot. Is there a different screen that I could use to get me to a spot very easily? It can't be this hard to get to a waypoint. Thanks for any advise.

the easiest way i've found so far is i just click menu then choose go to cursor....i put the cursor where i want to go and hit the button and it takes me there...i'm no pro though i'm a newb with these things but that is a pretty simple way i've found so far.

When you hit find waypoint you can also find the nearest - that pulls up a list of them that are closest to you ---- you select the one you want off the list.

When you're on your way to your waypoint, press the PAGES button and you'll get to a navigation screen that's only there when you're navigating. Use that screen and your map screen to navigate. Zoom in and out on your map screen as necessary. When you're navigating on the map there should be a dashed or dotted line that shows the way to go to your waypoint if it's off the screen.

The color for sure also you might have to move a little distance before you move to your desired location. What i mean is sometimes it will say 100ft but once you start walking it will pin point your position and show you the way there like say 68 feet to your left.

When you click "Find" initially and select by name, the default option at the bottom is "Go To", this is why you are just getting the little arrow on the bottom of the screen. I prefer to change "Go To" to "Find on Map". This option simply dispays the waypoint and you can navigate there yourself. As for the color question, I think it is worth its weight in gold! Much better contrast for picking up the contour lines and easier to read I night I have found. I ended up going with the Expedition C which is a H2O C with built in compass and barometric altimeter. All great units though.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
