Some old friends in a new setting (images added)

The Sax-Zim Bog feeding station at Ribs2 getting a bit old, not to mention very far away from home, relatively speaking, I decided to stay closer to Ely this morning and the near future.

This is the same location from which finnbay got his boreal critters posted on the Photo Sharing board.

It was a gorgeous morning to be out and about. Once again, the NWS got the forecast wrong, but I'm not complaining. This time. I never get tired of photographing even the common birds. Hope you don't get tired seeing them.

But first a bonus raven found on the way out of town.

They all look great and I think that the Black-capped are some of the best of yours that I have seen. The 2nd and 3rd from last are my picks.

The raven in the Mt. Ash is interesting. Thats not an everyday sight, I was expecting a waxwing when I saw the berries. Neat shot.

Some really good ones here, Steve! That raven came out particularly well. I've seen them diving into piles of red stuff before, but nothing like this!

Those are great Steve. I like the gray Jay the best I think and the last chickadee after that. That is a Gray Jay isn't it?

All nice Steve but that nuthatch with that"special" background lighting is really great..I like that "glow" in the image...my favorite!

First Chickadee hands down for me. I really like that one! However a very nice series.

Thanks, everybody. Here's another image added from the short time I was out today. There were a pair of boreal chickadees coming in, too, but because of the gray jays the boreals wouldn't come all the way in, just like it works on Ribs2 in the Bog.

Thanks Jim. The eye is a little goofy, but I fixed that in the version I'm printing. Four days into the New Year and I am the chickadee leader!

Nice shot, Steve my boy! This feather ball sure has a deep buff color on it's sides.
