What is everyone making for New Years?

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to see what everyone was making for the big (2 days - excluding the bowl games that go well into next week).

I am doing chili and pulled pork for New Years Day. For the previous nights party, I am doing jalapeno poppers (on the grill) and smoked deviled eggs. For the college national championship game, we will have a fish fry.

Just having a few friends over to the house for some brews and laughs.

Menu items to this point include but are not limited to:

1. My crab cakes from the old recipe of the week thread.

2. Caprese

3. Chocolate fondue

4. Pico de gallo and tortilla chips

5. Miller Lite

6. Some bubbly for midnight.

The Prime Rib post from last week got me all fired up!

You and me both grin

It is between prime rib or king crab.

I had to laugh, like you two after I read all the posts about prime rib I decided New Years Eve would be a good excuse to take a stab at my first one.

I've got the rib-eye steaks thawing out and the bottle of wine cooling down for tonights quiet supper with my wife. We won't make it until midnight, we'll do the bottle of wine while the potatoes are baking, then we'll broil the steaks. Mmmmm.
