I was working to get a perch and background coordinated just right for the rest of the winter's bird photography and decided to rattle off a few because the birds were not giving me any time to get things set.

It looks like you are going to be set. What ever you did it must be right cause they all look like they are perfect. The Siskin is my favorite but the Grosbeck is a close second.

Did you have to move the your blind because of the new lens or because of the back drop ?

Its a toss up between the siskin and the blue jay. Is the siskin missing a toe though?

Dang, Jay, you got me. It's ole three-toes, a siskin mounted by a local taxidermist.

Seriously, I'll look at the original. Could be the toe's just behind the twig instead of in front of it.

I was just being observant....lol If you really had a three toed pine siskin at your feeder I was going to put it on MOU so everyone could come see it.

My vote is the grosbeak. The contrast between the focused berries and unfocused is intriguing. The siskin background is really buttery though. I think setting up may have to be tomorrow's project.

I vote for number 2. The isolation of the main elements from the back ground is perfect and its color nicely complements the birds coloration. Very very nice!
