AUGER ISSUES NEED HELP

I own an older strikemaster auger, and this year it will start right away and run fine, but as soon as I am done augering a hole it dies and the idle seems plenty high, so what is causing this? I was thinking about putting a carb kit in it

Has anyone else experienced this and if so how did you remedy it?

Make sure the cap is a breather cap or loosen it up a bit, could be under full power it can pull fuel, but not idling.

If you had fuel left in it during the off season it sounds like it could be tale. Try adding a high quality fuel cleaner to the fuel and run that thru the carb for a few minutes, make sure the cleaner contains some acetone and mineral spirits!

I would guess either the cap needing to be vented or some bad gas as others have suggested.

My lazer mag did the same thing.I put a new spark plug in it and it works great.

Tried the plug thing and I always run all my gas out of lines at the end of the year, and the vent cap is always open.

sounds like you need a hand auger lol they always work

Run some stabil through there....My auger runs like a dream since i've done that. I had some older gas that I decided to use up and it kind of bogged down my engine until I added fuel stabilizer. Good luck!

Plugged fuel filter at the bottom of the gas tank? would be my guess, if you have checked everything else.

Mine will run for as long as I want it to since I switched to AMSOil, used to load up with the strikemaster oil.

Pillow pack, couple of oz of seafoam in a gallon of gas an the auger runs better then new now.
