When we traded Santana we were never going to get equal value for him. Other teams in baseball knew that he would be a free agent in a year so if we demanded too much they would wait and get him on the open market. However, I would have liked to see the Twins pull the plug on the rumored Boston deal for him which included Ellsbury and a young pitcher. JMO.

Never know, Gomez has all the tools. We might be talking different about the trade in 3-4 years. Give GO-GO a couple more years to mature and develope.

I'm glad Santana is in the National League. It would suck having to face him several times a year.

That is the part about the Santana trade to the Mets that I like the best. We don't have to face him!!! GO-GO does have some upside, I would rather have Ellsbury just because I think he is more developed and not as raw as GO-Go.

The Santana deal is pretty hard to judge right now also. As far as the Gomez deal vs. the Elsbury deal.... I generally trust the Twins when it comes to prospects. It will be a good 4-5 years before we can judge it.

I see Elsbury as a poor man's Johnny Damon and Gomez reminds me of Kirby with all the energy. Gomez has 10 times the raw talent of Elsbury in my opinion. The question is, can we get it all out of him?

It was sad to see him move to the Mets. It did make the young Twins pitcher step up and produce some good numbers last season.

Why dont they get Teixeira and DH him and Morneou on first? Then keep the rest the way it is. Oh yah the angels withdrew there bid on Teixeira for 8 years and 160 million. Its within or budget aint it.
