My Dad used to fish those on the Yellowstone near Glendive MT. They just used a huge catfish type rod with a plain monster size treble hook and cast it out as far as they could and then cranked thier butts off to snag em! Then the fight was on as they would generally head downstream once they fiquired out they were hooked. His P.B. was a 52 pounder.

People do "fish" for them, they just use the opposite of a Catfish rig...

They are not hard to snag on the Missouri during their spawn. That's my understanding anyways.

My buddy got this one on Sat. He lassoed it's paddle. Very strong and healthy 53"er. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 30lbs.

I have always said this as well.

Between Tyler, Matt Johnson, Hanson and will even throw Dtro in the mix now (he has some very nice images going this season). These are about the best image taking guys on FM.
