I did'nt want to steal another thread so I will start this one up.

With the news that GM will be cutting funding back and the thought that the JGR left Chevy to go to Toyota.....

Do you guy's think that Gibbs was given some insider info that GM would be cutting it's funding to Nascar teams?

I don't think it was to tough to figure out for Gibbs and everybody else that Yota has a lot more cash to throw away on Racing these days!

I wouldn't think there was any insider information at the time Gibbs switched. $4/gal gas is probably the biggest contributing factor in the downturn for the auto companies.

Why would you say that? Besides Hendrick, Gibbs is the only other GM team to win a championship, 3 infact, in the past 10 years. I'd think they'd rank second on the list.

2nd or 3rd does it really matter? JGR would never have got the funding that Hendrick gets.

Now if GM could make some profits on the normal cars they sell.

In the long run I think the whole Toyota deal will force the other teams to improve.
