Don't start getting down on yourself...

I got your text number.. make sure your phone is on...

Good luck tonight.

I had no service most of the night. It should be an interesting result, especially if some one really got into some heavy action. I guess we'll see when everyone wakes up this afternoon. Mr. DeMars and I again fished right up until the final gun.

Heres my .02 on the rules for this contest. Yes the contol item is good but the contest is on sat to sun morning and you could go fish tonight and turn in the photo from sun night? because you have till monday morning to turn in photo? So a rule change is a must. or maybe CHEAT?

anybody else see this rule or do all you guys go out sunday to?

It is not about the money. It's about bragging rights - It's about having another reason to go fishing. I figure it's a $10 fishing fee - I could care less if I don't win - its money well spent. My bride doesn't even flinch when I say - "Hey Honey, I'll be fishing the Moore's Cat Contest on Saturday. It's an allnighter."

Well, I am breaking my silence grin.

Just submitted my entries for the contest. Could throw a little twist into the out come whistle.

I agree with Ed andSteve. This contest is not for cheaters. If you are a cheater, do not sign up.

I trust this contest and all who participate.

I am saying there all loop holes in everything i just found one. I wanted to know what you guys think if the contest ends on sundayat 6:00am photos should be in by 7:00 pm sun. that way no room for cheaters. 12 hours to submit photos thats enough time?

or does this sound better contest ends and you have 26 hours to submit photo. just my .02 why not two day contest then?

I already saw that loophole and I brought it up. Not because I thought guys would cheat, but that I thought a control was not needed, since as stated, it's not really about the money or winning. If anyone would know that it would be me. smile

Guys stay up all night, including Bob. Unlike Bob, most of us want to get to bed, but Bob has to go into work. It used to be you had to also go in and submit it in person by 3pm that Sunday. By extending the deadline it means after staying up all night, 11 hours of it in a boat, you don't have to be stressed about getting it in that Sunday. And since it is a gentleman's honor tourney, it just makes sense to give us a ll a little break.

Did I leave out that our significant others usually have errands and chores for us to run on Sunday, since they kind of have one up on us letting us fish all night? sleepcry

I will say this, all the fisherman that I know that fish Bob's contest would not cheat. I would also feel very secure in knowing that Bob runs a honest contest.

It's not the money but the chance to fish another evening and maybe get to brag just a bit.

It was tough and mostly when your partner was prepared for a nice summer night whistle.

Team 'Shackbash' boated only one fish frown , with no runs going at all, all night. We got one small 23"x 14" flat. A big thanks to Dtro for the help over the phone grin

Not many boats out, but we saw a few on Pool 2 late at night. Got some cool images on si though.

Congrates to all that took down the LFC and Dtro Reign grin.

I don't see LFC or DTRO on the winner's list.......

Nice to see some new blood on the board.

well.....technically team LFC/DTro did manage to boat a money fish. Let's just say LFC is a stand up guy wink

[Note from admin: Please read forum policy before posting again. Thank you.]

I kind of appreciate the opportunity to take part in the contest. Since I don't have to organize it; post it on the forums; collect the money; notify the participants of the control item; dispurse the prizes; report the results - and a million other tasks like answer the phone calls with all the questions about the contest.

Hey Bob - You've done a great job with this contest. Thanks for all your hard work. Don't change a thing unless it makes your job easier. That's my .02 cents.

Tip of the Hat to all Who placed and to those that partipated.

For the record we did boat a 27 X 15 channel as well.

It would have made for a 3 way tie for second place.

Not very often you have ties, especially a 3 way no less. Who has idea's on breaking ties with this system? (Not that I'm in a position to change, it might be something to consider.)

Since I wussed out and we packed it in at 3:00am and the other teams decided to hang tough to the end, I felt they were more deserving.

It was a tough night with the wind in our area.

That probably makes the most sense. Another more pain in the rear idea would be the "call your shot" system where people turn in a length and girth for each species representing their guess at their biggest fish. But that would also require a chain of tie breakers because the people who tie could be off by the same number. Never mind. HL's makes the most sense.

Anytime you add popularity + money to the equation most people need some guarantee that its a controlled event and the option for cheating is minimized as much as possible. These concerns werent necesarry when this contest was a good ole boy event...you all knew each other...not so much the case anymore. That being said, UPDECREEK I think your suggestions would be better addressed with Bob directly as he manages these tourneys.

Additionally this contest is well worth Bob's efforts, as I know of about 10-20 people just in my little corner of the metro who didnt even know there was a catfishing baitshop in the area prior to these tournemants.

So to imply he's doing it "just for the heck of it" would be off base. wink

Wow, Thanks Larry! As for a tiebreaker maybe give money back and roll over the rest? Or coin flip or cut the cards??? Anywho Thanks Bob it was fun as always. A lot of boats out that's for sure. And thanks Shamu had a great time! So what's next Carver or Jordan? whistle

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
