Okoboji Open

Is anyone going down to fish the Okoboji Open on May 4th? I was just wondering as I had been thinking about doing it if I found a partner.

I will be fishing it. Just got an email last night from the T.D. and there is 50 boats so far. I've fished it for five or six years and it can be brutal or awesome depending on the weather.

I will be fishing it with my brother. Plan is to head down the Wed before the tourney. Can't wait to hit he open water again.. Called down yesterday and it is still covered in ice.

Esox: I think they are referring to an annual bass tournament. But yes that is the walleye opener ( for keeping fish). We will be down there, so if you see me at the landing stop by and say hi. But if you see me on the lake stay away, all the fish are mine, mine I tell you.

My bad, I'm not a bass fisherman, just catch them on accident. As far as your fish you gotta beat us to them I havent even decided where I'm going and if wading or taking the boat, Old Tank Alumacraft 175 Trophy is our ride.

I always look forward to this tournamnet. But we do catch a fair share of walleyes each year when pre-fishing for the bass tournament.

Wayne we just need to make sure you get in the water on tournament day this year. Actually I think that was the Anglers Choice tourney down there last year. You were the only smart one to stay in with lightening bolts hitting everywhere. Let's hope for a little nicer weather this year. Hope to see you down there.

hey Mattrd I was looking for some to come with me. I fished the Anglers Choice last year and had monster winds blowing us around the lake. Matt let me know if you want to fish I have a boat.

My brother (Jigs 4 Pigs)and myself will be fishing it. The weather is not looking the best but hopefully that will change.
