2nd Line

wormer

Recommended Posts

I read just lately that one of the items listed in the new house and senate bills is that anglers could use two lines throughout the year as long as they purchase a $5 second-line endorsement. In some of the bass tournament rules it is listed that only one line in the water at a time. Others just state to follow and abide by the rules set forth by the state. I myself dont feel that there is a need for a second line when tournament fishing. What are others thoughts on this?

Definately no for tournaments. I really dont see how you can bass fish with two rods very effectively anyway. Now when I fish the red river, since I'm from Wahpeton, I do and it works great from shore.

I agree with the first two replies. I went to college in South Dakota where you are able to fish with two rods during the open water months. Fishing from shore was great. Cast one out and let it sit on the bottom and cast reel a second. I would be in favor of a law that would only allow shore fishermen use two lines.

although i wouldn't throw 2 rods i would throw two lures a carolina rigged worm with a jig npig for a weight or a whole mess of flukes loooking like a school of shade. I heard that the second one was one of kvd's favorites where legal. ike

It'd be great for catfishin, and I would buy one. I dunno about the shore though. I have a boat and pretty much only fish from that. I don't want to be arsed out for having a boat. POS boat at that, but still I want that option to.

Like others have stated.. In WI tournaments I have fished 2 lures before.. 2 cranks tied together.. a dropshot with a jig underneath it, a jig as a weight on a carolina rig, 2 flukes chasing each other...

Not legal in MN, but if the new law came up, I'd deffinatly do it here as well.
