New baitcaster - What line to use

I got a good deal on a Fenwick medium action rod with a pinnacle real on it. I have one baitcaster that I use for pike and bass that has 20lb braided on it. I want to use this one for trolling eyes and some casting as a spare. What's a good like to use for that?

10 LB transition! all the way I think its the best line out there. and then 6 or 8 for the leader

I would use fire line and then you could direct tie to a leader or bait or also use a mono or flouro leader

I use 10 lb copoly on some of my crankin rods and 10 lb Florocarbon on the others... Gamma in both.

What's a good brand for the flourocarbon? Seems to be the good word for them. Wade, used fireline before, I just don't really care for it.

Sandmannd-

I like the XPS 10/12 lb fluoro from Bass Pro. Tried the old seaguar, didn't like it... the Berkely stuff was really bad (weak and brittle) and couldn't justify the price for Gamma.

BPS has the XPS on sale right now -30%... really quite affordable. Best for the $ that I have tried anyway.

I still use power pro for trolling. It rips through the weeds well to get them off the rapalas too.
