Roscoe16
I am looking at buying a 5 X 8 utility trailer from Fleet Farm to haul my ATV with. Does anybody have any opinions on how they perform? Thanks.Roscoe16
0 sparcebag
How much weight is it rated to carry? I know when I looked at them They looked awful flimsy.I did'nt buy one.
0 Tom7227
Skimp on the trailer and spend a day alongside the road figuring out how to get it home with a blown hub.
0 Dave S
I bought mine from TSC. It's a 5x8 that was rated for 1500 lbs. Plenty for a 700 lb ATV. It's performed well, but I keep the hubs greased all the time.
0 Bobb-o
My parents were just looking at trailers. they ended up with a 5x8 from Menards that is almost identical to the one from fleet farm for $200 less. the only major difference was the one from fleet had a 2" receiver whereas the one they bought and the ones theyu saw everywhere else only had the 1 7/8"
0 Sandmannd
Another place to look is Harbor Freight, they have trailors of that size as well and usually a little cheaper.
0 Hafnutz
I bought one at Home Depot. I see the same brand at Gander and Northern and elsewhere. My only complaint is the cheap paint job. No primer and the paint almost falls off. Looks great new but wait a year. A little more money up front would have saved me a lot of work.
0 Dave S
I agree with the paint jobs on these "bargain" trailers. One 90 mile round trip and the paint wore off my fenders and they were rusty by the time I got home.
0 icehousebob
When I was trailer shopping, I found a great difference in weight ratings. I got a 2000 lb. axle and 13 inch tires that were rated for that weight. Several I looked at were that rating of axle but they had 12 in. tires that were only rated for a total of 1500 lbs. The larger tires just make more sense to me.
0 Nutty Fisherman
I bought one at fleet farm 4 years ago and have not had any problems with it. It is a 5 X
