Took a little drive

I took a little drive today to look for some birds. Found some. Here's a few.

Good looking stuff, Mike. Love that loud eye ring on the killdeer, too.

Can't wait for the birds to really start showing up here. Should be only a week or so before we get good numbers. Then it'll be time to belly up by the river in the full camo gear and camera cover. Last year I had hoodies and goldeneye and mallard swimming by 10 feet past the tip of my lens. Wild.

fishgutz, actually, the odd one out is a female. She was a lucky girl with all of those boyfriends!!

MD, I got the D80. James upgraded from the D80 to the D300 so I upgraded from the D50 to the D80. Not a huge jump but it has some features that I didn't have with D50.

I like the Killdeer never realized they had the red ring around the eye. Is that a phase for mating season or a consistant marking ?

Adults have red around the eye all year. A little more intense during breeding plumage, though.
