good 2 day river trip?

any one know of a good weekend canoe trip down the st. croix or other rivers on the south side of the state. looking for good put in points and take outs. to make a weekend trip!

The Minnesota is far from most peoples imagination,Montivedio,GraniteFalls,Downstream its a unknown very seldom traveled route and scenic beyond the imagination.Try it You may make it a summer destination.

The Rum river is a great trip, but I'm not sure about making it into a 2 day affair.

Check out the DNR's HSOforum for designated canoe routes. Also they are shown in some of the Sportsmens Atlas's.

I'm a big fan of the Des Moines. Put in at the dam in Currie, camp the night at talcot, then finish up the trip at Kilen Woods state park outside of Windom.

Very nice trip and zero river traffic.

I always like the upper St.Croix. Have use the shuttle service out of the St.Croix State Park. Have them drop you somewhere up river then use the many canoe-in campsites at the state park.

The Cannon River can be a great two day trip. Put in near Faribault woolen mills, campsite in the Cannon River Wilderness Copunty Park (great vista from limestone bluffs!)....take out in Northfield. It is a state canoe route. Check out the DNR HSOforum for a great map of the entire route. I've done a weeklong journey from Morristown to RedWing. Very nice!
