LOWinEYEin
Has anyone down sized from like a 20Lb to a 5Lb or 11Lb? Can you do an Exchange from a 20 to and 11? [This message has been edited by WhaTT! (edited 11-14-2003).]
Bob Cunningham
I just use the 1# cans they last for me and easier to carry. I have a friend that uses the 5# if he is staying out all evening since it last and he's not moving much. If you are going to run and gun keep it as light as possible. EBass
Bob has a good point. I'm going to get both. Last year I just used the 1 pounders, which I still am, but on those real cold days I need the 5 pounder to keep the pressure up.
LOWinEYEin
But will the stores let you exchange from a 20 to a 5?
Tundra
I like my 10 lb (probably and 11 but I call it a 10) That will work all day for two days running my mr. heater. I don't like to run out and I like to be warm. The 1 lbs are nice for an evening but are spendy if you fish alot.

Ya Hey Der
Your best bet is to call around town and ask. All the places that I have been to only carry 20lb tanks.Good luck in your search.
Northlander
Go to Menards and buy one. If ya have a old style 20 they will give ya new 10 filled for I think it was $17 last year?
Surface Tension
No the stores wont exchange a 20lb for a 10lb.
Northlander
I like 1 pounders too but I hate when I see them empty on the ice. What a waist. Please pick up when your done. If Im going for more than a day I use a 20 pounder. Nothing worse than running out of propane on the lake and having to go to town for more. Im looking at the PIG for this year. I believe its 10pounds? Short and wide tank not as much worry about tipping.
Guest
I have one of those short/squat 11# tanks. Been using it for two winters now. It's better that 1# cylinders on a cold day because the pressure is more constant and I truly believe it makes my Buddy heater perform alot better. No stopping to change the tank and relight/reheat. The hoses are plenty long that you can buy so the tank sits outside your shelter. I have never seen anything but 20# tanks available for exchange anywhere......T
Minnetonka
I have been using 11 pounders for the last few years. I think that they are just the right size. They fit perfictly in a milk crate easy carrying and handeling
