Welcome KT Professional Edge Custom Rods

Recommended Posts

I'm very pleased to introduce a new sponsor to Fishing Minnesota's muskie forum, KT Professional Edge Custom Rods.

I've had the opportunity to get to work with Keith Terlinden, the owner of KT Professional Edge, for the past several years . The rods he makes, and the service he provides to his customers, are both first rate. They're a true custom rod, at a price anglers can afford.

Keith builds some of the best muskie rods available anywhere. Whether it's on the Diamondback blank, which a lot of muskie anglers (myself included) feel are the best muskie blank on the market, or his own Edge series, Keith builds muskie rods for every application, from burning small bucktails to tossing magnum Bull Dawgs. Keith's rods are famous for his "fat cork" large diameter handles, which really cut down on fatigue. Keith's muskie rods have also been at the forefront of the trend in longer rods for muskies, with rods up to 9 feet available in a variety of actions.

Although he's perhaps best known for his muskie rods, Keith's bass and walleye rods are exceptional as well. With his new line of custom bass rods, plus a wide selection of walleye rods, you can find the right rod for most any application, from chucking grubs for smallmouth to live bait rigging walleyes to pitching, flipping, or cranking largemouth bass. Best of all, you can get your rod exactly the way you want it. From length and action to handle configurations that include traditional, Tennessee handle spinning rods, or split grips in either spinning or baitcasting, to selecting the wraps and guides, Keith will work with you to build the best rod available for your personal needs.

KT Professional Edge is also one of the only places where you can get rods built with Syncork, a new, synthetic rod handle material developed by Thorne Brothers co-founder and expert rod builder Gregg Thorne. Syncork is lighter than natural cork, has a subtle fuzzy but not sticky 'grip' to it when sanded with coarse sandpaper, doesn't soak up water, doesn't fade, stain or chip, and isn't harmed by gasoline, bug spray or sunscreen. It's a totally new material, and can be sanded to any shape. It's amazing stuff.

We'll be bringing you more detailed information about Keith's rod selection in the days to come, but in the meantime, please welcome Keith to the Fishing Minnesota Family.

Rob Kimm

I'll chime in here too. Rob introduced me to Keith last year at the Muskie Expo in Blaine. I saw his work there first hand and it looks really good. Because I'm totally spoiled with fishing rods (my dad's also a custom rod builder), I haven't fished with Keith's sticks (yet). However, I've read many dozens of positive reports of Keith's rods and know several people who have 'em and love 'em. Also, Keith seems like a rock solid, good guy, which is why I posted here. Give him a call and check out his stuff- it's awesome.

One other thing- DO NOT use Keith's muskie lures called "The Krook". I've had great luck with these lures-- but the fewer people throwing them, the better off I'll be. ;\)

I started using some of Keiths rods last season and have been extremely happy with everything he has produced for me. I have a number of his Diamonback walleye rods and also started using the ice rods this winter. The rods are quality and Keith a nice guy.

Hello everybody.

Just thought I would let folks know that I will again have a booth at this weekends Minnesota Musky Show in Blaine. Along with a complete line of Musky rods, I will have a complete line of Bass and Walleye sticks to include some of the bass rods that RK helped me design and the walleye rods Walleye Dan used last year.

I will have some sticks built with the new Syncork. This stuff is a must see.

I look forward to seeing you there. Make sure you stop by and say hi.
