New auger doesn't run

Is it a matter of it not staying running between drilling holes or not staying running period? Either way, you can probably fix the problem by adjusting the two carb screws. Even after doing a substantial amount of tweaking, it may still cutout between holes... welcome to Jiffy Land (of which I am also a part of). Some people claim that the between hole cutout decreases as you break it in... it has gotten better, but mine still cuts out.

I agree with Surface tension. There is no rule that says because you bought one, you have to know how to fix it. If it doesn't run, and you have given it a realistic or even painstakingly long time to work the bugs out, RETURN it.

Right on with everyone else is saying, but if you can get it going and it is dying between holes, or while your walking with it, its the break in period [PoorWordUsage]. It happend to my SM and i was getting mad and now that i have put in about 5 tanks this year and a couple hundred (ok a few more) holes in the ice its working like a champ. except for the time i hit a wodden tip up about a foot and a half into the ice, there is nothing more odd that drilling up wood chips from the ice...??
