bmc
They sure are!!! I'll be hunting zone 19 again from May 7-11. Last year was my first year, so I'm even more pumped this year. I made a few landowner contacts down there last spring, so that will broaden my horizon's a bit more!Brian
DonBo
bmc, same zone, same time as you. We also got a couple new spots that got me really excited about this year. Two of us shot a 23 & 25 pounder last spring.

bmc
DonBo,We should try to meet up during our season for some dinner or something. I hunt near Baldwin and stay at my brother's in Hudson. Sounds like you guys got some awesome birds last year!!!I've heard that applying for non-res tags in May gives you an excellent chance on drawing a tag, have you had luck trying to draw a tag for an earlier season? I see paintbrush drew for the season before us and he's from Brainerd.Brian
DonBo
bmc, I've drawn every year in 19. We usually apply for the season before this, the Wis. fishing opener. However, the last couple years the activity has been slower earlier in the week and has picked up later. Can't explain it, just the way it is. We hunt south of Spring Valley, near Elmwood. We camp at the Nugget Lake campground East of Ellsworth, SW of Elmwood. I hope you're not hunting too near Baldwin as that is not in zone 19. Stay in touch if you want to hook up. bmc
I'm actually south of I-94, which is the boundary line. But thanks for the heads up! Do you guys usually shotgun hunt or bow hunt? I'd be interested in talking strategy w/ you as it sounds like you have hunted this zone/time frame in the past. Thanks, Brian
Ray Esboldt
I pulled season E (May 14th-18th). I like those dates if the spring weather plays itself out properly. Plus, I am clear for MN fishing opener for once.
