mmeyer
Our project for my photo club this month was to find our favorite photo and bring it to the meeting. I typically don't enjoy taking photos of people because they typically don't like to get there picture taken so it was a little odd that this has been one of my favorites. Steve Foss
That's a neat shot, Mike. The visible lines of the face show how young the child is, and I really like the mood and the texture of the hair.
finnbay
Very nicely done. This is one black and white that I think tells a better story than color would. Candids of children are so precious! Thanks for sharing!
yakfisher
I like the mood as well, I can see why you chose this shot.

Steve Foss
Forgot to mention also how I like the downcast eye. It sets the mood and focuses the attention on the other facial lines.
mmeyer
Thanks everyone, This is the color version which I like as well but I thought the B&W was more dramatic. Thanks again
Steve Foss
B&W makes the stronger impact, IMO. And it removes the green color cast issues in the hair and the shirt. Unless the shirt is light green, of course. I shouldn't assume it's not. And I like very much how the green BG darkens toward the edge. If she's Irish, it could be more compelling in color as St. Patrick's Day approaches. It's a moving image in any case. The composition alone is excellent and supercedes any possible color issues (which if they are present are easily handled in post processing.) It's one I'd be proud to have, Mike. mmeyer
Yep Steve, the shirt is actually a light green. If it was any other color I wouldn't have liked the color version nearly as much I don't think. Thanks againMike
