Hyfax question??

I pull my house mostly by hand and very rarely behind sled or wheeler and was wondering how hyfax runners perform if just pulling by hand. I have some wear holes in the bottom of my sled and hyfax would cover them nicely, but I don't want to make the house harder to pull. Will hyfax make my house harder to pull by hand in the snow?? Thanks for any help

I haven't noticed too much of a difference in the snow with or without the hyfax on. The main reason I put it on is to save the bottom from wear and tear in the parking lots and occasional towing behind a snowmobile to help it track straight.

Snow is hard pulling by hand no matter what. The Hyfax lets it move like butter across ice though. It helps with it better across the parking lot as well and it saves your sled big time. Look through this forum, there was a post on here last week about the same thing.

Hyfax when newer will make it a bit easier to pull. After a while pulling in lots and over sharp ice and with wheelers/sleds they get nicked up and they arent as easy to pull by hand. Fine sandpaper and some wax helps a lot.

Big plus is long long extra life on the sled the hyfax is on. I wont own a house without putting hyfax on it.

I have the Clam runners on my FT Pro. I don't think they're hyfax, but they're a harder plastic than the sled is made from. They were a bit of a chore to put on, but it sure slides nice.

I try to avoid pulling it over anything but snow or ice if I can, but on the occasion I have to pull it over pavement/gravel/sand/rocks it's nice to know that that grinding noise is the runners and not my sled.

I think thats really the main reason for installing runners/Hyfax.
