Throne Brothers

A fishing buddy and I were up in the cities and so we decided to stop at Thorne Brothers to check it out. I must say what a selection of tackle and equipment. The thing I was the most impressed with, was the hospitality of the staff, especially Matt Johnson who was incredibly helpful and pleasant to talk with. thanks Matt. My buddy and I will be back up again this spring to check out some of Thorne Brothers custom Muskie rods and equipment.

Oh yeah, the spring bobber threader was by far the best $1.50 I have spent in quite some time. No more frustrating wasted time on the ice trying to thread my line through those Frabill Spring Bobbers.

I've had nothing but great service from them. They are always there to help and will answer all questions. If they aren't busy you can get good info just chatting with them. They are usually busy when I've been there though. Matt is great to talk with. He's loaded with info.

My Thorne Sweet Pea rod that I just got this week brought three 12 to 18" trout to hand today, and my Panfish Sweetheart caught one too! Well, the rods didn't do it all alone, I had to help but...well, you know what I mean. grin.gif

Great rods and great service! Thanks Thorne Bros!

I am pretty sure my next rod is going to be a Sweet Pea with a Tica. I love going down to the store, nice and easy for me as its only about 6 miles down the road. Been down there 4 times in the last week and a half. They always have great info and going to the seminars they have is a great way to learn quick.

Before I say it, I want to say that I'm not the best speller either.

Do the Throne Brothers make toilets?

We all probably knew what you meant to say (Thorne Brothers), but that thread title caught my eye and made me laugh.

But yes the sweet pea is a sweet rod!

Walleye #1,

It was nice to meet you and the other Houston coaching staff. It's not everyday that we have two head coaches from different spots from the same school in the shop at once \:\) Always a pleasure talking fishing with other die hards. Hopefully the two of you got the chance to chase down a few slabs yesterday.

Good luck this spring with baseball and again next fall with football!
