Hossienda
Hey Guys,I am looking for some insight in to auger racks. I am new to the world of ATV's and would like to get a rack, but am not sure what might be out there. Are there any that you guys have found to be especially good??Thanks,-Hossienda
CrappieAttitude
Are you looking for actual racks, or just something to hold your auger to the rack? If you are looking for a rack accessory to hold your auger, I would reccomend the one made by Mad Dog. It has a yoke for your bit, and two velcro straps that hold the handles tight to the rack. I have one on my wheeler and that thing is rock solid.CA

Hossienda
I am looking for a rack accessory to hold my auger. Is the Mad Dog one a standard thing that I could find at a Fleet Farm or something??Thanks,-Hossienda
CrappieAttitude
Fleet Farm, Gander, or any other sporting goods store that carries Atv accessories should have them. They are very common.CA
Shawnny B
I would say hit Gander, they have there ATV accessories for 30 ( I think) Percent off ...Its a great thing, just need to get shorter bolts =-)
Hossienda
Ok. So I was on the Mad Dog site and they had a specific auger rack, but cost was like $55. Is that what you are referring to or is it one of the Fin Grip systems??-Hossienda
Fishnblood
Man don't spend 55 bucks. Gander mtn out in eden prairie is where i got mine, the only dam location with them left, that was 2 weeks ago. 29.99 after the discount. And i will 3rd what everyone else says, it is solid. Crazy4 Ice
I'm also new to the ATV world but I did manage to the low down on the auger holder so picked one up at Gander in BaxterOne word...awesome! The holder keeps the auger tight and it was easy to install. I found it is also benficial to keep a couple bungies on hand (stored on the front rack) incase a buddy brings his auger with a wider handle set up. I have Nils and the auger handles are narrow compared to an older Lazer. Used my extra bundgies and the holder still worked like a champ
rockman
I stopped in at Cabelas in Rogers a couple days ago, and bought one of the three Mad Dog auger rack kits they had left. Two left at that time, if anyone is close by, and looking to get one. Rippinlip
Also new to the ATV world and my buddy who is a machinist built an auger holder for his and now put one on mine, man do they look sweet. Besides an Auger holder what else have you done to your ATV to add to your Ice fishing machine?Myself not much, added 4 milk totes to it to hold the camera, vex, heater, latern, etc.Looking for ideas. rockman
I bought a cheap plastic storage trunk from Walmart, and after drilling a few holes in the bottom of it to accomodate a couple of u-bolts, bolted it to my rear rack.It isn't as nice as the Otter Monster Box, but it is inexpensive, and holds a fair amount of stuff inside.I can put a padlock on it,too,if I need to.The auger rack took a bit of time to install with my Arctic Cat MRP racks, but once installed it appears to be pretty solid. With just those two things, that is all I have done.I should add I put tire chains on all tires, front and back.I am open to other ideas and add on's.
