Vote for the "icefishing car"

Hello all !
I'm new here. This looks like a very good site and I look forward to participating in your forums. I am a member of another outdoor site and we have a thread going on our icefishing forum and I thought you here might be interested also.

Discovery Channel has a show called "Monster Garage" where they take normal everyday vehicles and do some STRANGE things with them. I've only seen it a few times but it is pretty entertaining. Right now they have a poll going to see what their next project will be. One of the selections is an "Icefishing Car". It sounds pretty cool. Right now it's WAY behind the other two choices so we need your help. PLEASE vote ! Here is the address for the voting :

http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/monstergarage/poll/poll.html

You are allowed to vote more than once but NO MORE than once every 12 hours. It's going to take a miracle but we have until the 24th of Feb. to make it happen.

Let's band together and get it done.

Thanks for your help !

Tom,
I was wondering the same thing ! Maybe they're just sick of Long Beach and want to do a "Road Trip". But I'll tell ya, it's gonna have to be a DOOZY from Southern CA. smile.gif

They got my vote....and will continue to get it every day until the vote closes. Im wondering if our forum has the power to get this idea to the top so we can actually see this monster get built? That would be awesome!!! Rick....anyway for you to post this where everyone will be able to see it?

aww... the Rock Climber is going to win frown.gif it allready has over half the votes! It sounds like the most BORING one! What is it with america's obsession with Uber SUV's anyways? The whole idea is just plain dumb... Jeep allready claims it can allready do that on their commercials! wink.gif This is lame... I don't watch the show myself but would if they had an ice-fishing car. Defiantly not for another boring all-terrian SUV...!

Good idea Tom.

I hadn't thought about it. But I'm going to make another post on the "Sound Off" forum on our site. We limit it to just the icefishing forum. Our site has over 4800 members and is growing RAPIDLY. We'll be over 5K VERY soon. We've just GOTTA push this thing through !

Good going folks. Thanks for the help. At first it looked hopeless but I'm starting to see a little glimmer of hope. smile.gif

We're gaining!

If you click on the "submit answer" link, you can see the counts, even if you didn't make a vote.

Since my previous post in this thread, the IFC is up to 2436, while the Crawler is 8513.

Keep them votes coming!

Thats right vote everyday!!

4800 members for the next 12 days (polls are open until noon on the 18th) and 2 votes a day,..thats like 115,000 some votes, doesn't seem even fair! But we really stand a chance here.

We can easily do this!! Keep the votes coming and see what power we really have!

Also send this to everyone you know!!

I'm in! Cast my vote earlier and don't recall the tally. Keep the scorecard coming ... I think it's doable. Now all I gotta do is get the Discovery Channel!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
