We woke to a very frosty morning and wouldn't you know it I had to go to work. Well, I did get off a little early and was able to get out and shoot some. A lot of the frost was gone but there was still a little left.

That work business was in my way today, too. No wise remarks stfcatfish! I did sneak out in the afternoon for a couple of quick shots - we don't get this kind of frost very often.

when I walked out of the hospital this afternoon, I was amazed at the whores frost still clingning to the trees in the cities. There is a church across the street from the hospital with a tall white cross, and the trees in park leading up to it were all still frosted at 2 pm. I walked for 5 minutes looking for a place to get the white trees, white cross and the foggy sky, in a sepia mode, and I couldn't find a good place. That picture looked really great in my mind, but it just would fall into place, unless I wanted the a building in it as well.

Good thing my wife didn't see me out there, she already thinks I have issues beyond her control, and she is right.

Besides, it's not everyday you get to use the term whore's frost right?

Ken, love that shot, you can really see the frost, sharp very well exposed. picksbigwagon I will be laughing for a while just picturing that in my mind.

So I shouldn't add that I walked around that area again tonight for 15 minutes, just knowing there had to be a way to frame that photo.......there wasn't, and the cross was lit up tonight too...........

Thanks, Dan. I really had to stretch my brain to get this where I wanted it. We had a grey sky, but compared to the area underneath the tree, it was very bright. Compensated -1 and then used a little fill light to brighten the needles. Still did a little PP blending to finish up.

All nice guys!...each day of frost brings a different look to the landscape...here's an image from a couple weeks ago on a balsam branch that highlights the individual frost crystals forming...kinda neet

Nice shots, you guys! I got out in the hoarfrost but couldn't find a composition that moved me so I never even tripped the shutter. Good work.
