LX-3 problem

Here's the story: I went out on the ice this afternoon after fully charging my LX-3 last night. For some reason, no matter how high I turned up the sensitivity, my jig (size 8 shrimpo) would hardly show up. Saturday it worked just fine. I've never had this problem before, as typically I have the sensitivity set around 6 to 7 and it shows up just fine. There's no current or any other enviromental factors that I can think of that could cause this. Did the transducer go bad?

Give Marcum a call. It sounds like it could be the transducer but I'll leave the trouble shooting to them.. Their repair center is in Baxter and their customer service is excellent.

Do as Borch says and contact MarCum Customer Service.

Typically you won't have your gain at 6 or 7 so your ducer has been sick for a while.

Everything for Marcum is now located in Anoka, from what I was told. Give 'em a call, thay'll take care of it.

quick check the bottom of your transducer...could be ice or air bubbles interfering.

I suppose there's a small chance the problem could be interference (ice or air bubbles), but as Frank said, if the gain typically had to be set at 6 or 7 just to see the jig, I'd say you're transducer is shot. I have had my LX-3 for 3 years, and I have yet to increase the gain beyond 3 to be able to see the jig and even baitfish. I think normal settings for a fully-functional ducer is between 1-3 (personal experience).

Contacted Marcum, sounds like my transducer is shot so I'm sending it in next week. Thanks for the help guys.

I am almost certain its your transducer. Do a search and you will see you are not alone. I was also in the same boat. First batch of transducers for the original LX-3 sucked
