auger mount

just picked a new sportsmen and wondering how to mount a ice auger to the front. My machine doesn't have the tube rack up front which i have seen many mounts for the tube racks.

I beleive they are called Ryans rack. They actually look like 2 small goal post and bolt on to your front rack. You use a couple of bungees to keep the auger in place.

the mad dog auger mount will work as well, I highly recommend these!!! I don't even take the auger off the machine when trailering, it holds solid as a rock.

I use the mad dog system as well. Get yourself a front rack extender for an easy mount location.

Either the Mad Dog or the IPI mounts will hold your auger more securely than the Ryan's mounts.

I went with Ryans Racks for a few reasons, they not only will carry my ice auger, they will also carry my gun, weed eater, shovel, rakes...ect... the square part of the ice augers fit perfectly into the "goal" posts of the racks...

where did you get the front rack extender, i looked online and didn't see one for my 2007 x2 sportsmen 800. Looks like the mad dog would be better for me just got to find that rack extender.

I tried the Ryans Racks first and one of them broke on the second day. GM gave me my money back.

I then went to the IPI which work well.

Then I got tired of taking all the bolts off and putting them on at the beginning and end of each ice season (as well as getting the mounts in the right place everytime) so I mounted them on a 2x10 plank and strap the board to the quad rack. Works for me. The whole thing comes off in a minute if I need to.

Spotter.. Check out polaris p/n 2875217-418, it says for 05-06 but I don't think the front storage box changed. Black wrinkle finish, $69.99.
