Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis got traded to the Detroit Tigers for 6 prospects, one of them Andrew Miller. Detroit's lineup becomes potent adding Cabrera.

1. Curtis Granderson

2. Edgar Renteria

3. Carlos Guillen

4. Magglio Ordonez

5. Miguel Cabrera

6. Gary Sheffield

7. Ivan Rodriguez

8. Jacque Jones

9. Placido Polanco

SP

1. Justin Verlander

2. Kenny Rogers

3. Jeremy Bonderman

4. Dontrelle Willis

5. Nate Robertson

Looks like the Tigers want to make a serious run at the World Series next year. They should win the Central with Cleveland on their heels.

Not a good trade for Detroit. They gave up a five tool CF, and a pitcher in Miller who is actually headed in the right direction. Willis is young, but heading in the wrong direction.

Who knows who the 4 other prospects are as well.

It will definitely strengthen the Tigers next year... But I don't think it will fare that well for them in the future.

Too bad we won't trade within the division, If the prospects are as good as you say. I say if you feel like it makes your team better, either now or for the future make the trade, regardless of what league or division the teams are in.

They will be tough for a couple years. However, they traded away their future to try to win it all now. Even better excuse for the Twins to rebuild and be competetive when the new stadium opens and the Tigs and Tribe are starting to age a bit.

Also, with Detriot getting Cabrera, I think it opens up more trading partners for the Twins. The same players up for big for Cabrera would be great for the Twins if they can get those west coast teams into the picture.

PS What about Inge for 3rd here? He hits for power and plays good defense. His strikeouts are high though.

Brandon Inge doesn't do anything for me. A below average hitter and very overpaid. I'd rather take my chances on a young guy that hasn't proven anything, but has some potential. Inge was paid $4.9 million in '07. Has only had one year where he hit better than .261 and only one year where he's had more than 16 homers. At the price Inge would come at, I'm not a fan of that option.

This trade will almost guarentee that the Yanks will be back in the picture for Santana. They see and hear rumblings of the Tigers AND Red Sox putting together line-ups like they are and it will drive them crazy. My bet is that Santana will be a Yankee before the new year arrives.
