Hey chef,

I haven't heard of any as of the last year or so, Last report was just north of me about two miles or so, but the report of wolves in my area has inclined alot. The guy that owns the restraunt in poplar lost one of his prize hunting dogs this year to a wolf in his own yard.

Nothing wrong with a little boar. smile.gif You can take them year round except for during rifle season.

Jar, had no wolves over here, thats a bummer about the hunting dog. Coyotes have gone pretty wild but I just picked up a rifle to tame that nuisance, now I just need to see them again.

The pigs were reported within a mile from where I am at. With rifle stands set up and bait out I would imagine it is only a matter of time before they find their way to our land again, unless they remember what happened to five of their siblings 2 years ago. smirk.gif

Feral pigs are considered unprotected wild animals with no closed season or harvest limit. Feral pigs may be removed any time throughout the year as long as those choosing to pursue them possess a valid small game license and the permission of the landowner where they intend to hunt. Also, landowners may shoot feral pigs on their own property without a hunting license, under DNR's animal nuisance control authority

This is from the DNR HSOforum

There is no closed season on Feral pigs except for the friday before opener. Coyotes are closed during the 9- day deer season. If I see a pig it will be bacon before you can say boo. grin.gif

Good Luck and happy hunting!!

We hunt on Fort McCoy (had to skip this year, don't ask why!). Last year they had signs up asking hunters to shoot on site. They were killing ducks and fawns, and making a big mess in wetlands. They also said they recommended not to eat the feral pigs.

I second that. I wouldn't mind a little wild bacon to wrap around the venison tenderloins I have in the freezer...... grin.gif
