Missing gun...

A friend was coming back from North Dakota deer hunting on Monday and somehow a black hard case containing a Ruger full stocked rifle in .250 Savage disappeared from his truck.

This rifle is intended as a gift to someone for the holidays and he would sure like it back.

He thinks it happened around Wilton MN, but we are not 100% sure.

He is offering a reward if found, no questions asked.

I assume if you have the gun's serial number it has been reported to the authorites as lost or stolen?

Even if not, it should be reported - but you've probably done that, I hope.

Way ahead of ya, hence the no questions asked, just want the gun back.

They cannot pawn it, trade it, or sell it without being hit by NCIC. We are hoping it is just found and returned.

Private sale or usually a trade for drugs is what happens.

Wilton? Is that where the hwy 89 turns north? That gun will work good in front of a spotlight.

Yeah Wilton is a little West of 89, eventually it will turn up, I had case not long ago where I recovered a shotgun stolen in Seattle almost 20 years before. AS far as jacklighting with it if they want to deal with finding ammo for it good luck it is not a common caliber and being it is not a traditional type rifle someone will see it and eventually talk. RSI's in that caliber are just not common. I am hoping they will realize it is better to turn it in for the reward then the alternative.
