Ya i know Arod is big, but other then Arod, who else out there is a big pick. I think there is alot of great players this year on it this year and its going to inpack alot of teams.

what you all think?

I think the 'hot' free agents will be Hunter and Lowell. Posada signed yesterday, A-Rod is so outrageously priced that only four or so teams could even think about it, and Rivera is still good enough for a lot of teams but he might be on the downhill side of his career. There are a lot of teams that need a third baseman and Hunter is still on of the top two or three outfielders in the majors. They can make any contending team improve their chances. They won't be cheap but most teams can find the dollars to consider either one.

With A-Rod mentioned and Posada, Andruw Jones mentioned, how about Barry Bonds? Or the Brew Crew's closer Cordera?

Lots of Yankees out there-Rodriguez, Posada, Rivera, Pettite, and a couple more I think?

Probably will end up being another relatively unheard of foreign player, like Dice-K. I didn't know who that guy was until free agency started and the grainy video and stories were all over the internet. Who knows.

Silva is going to cash in big time since there are really no big name pitchers out there. Bartolo Colon could be had for cheap because of his injuries. Luis Castillo is out there. Eric Gagne. I seen the Yankees offered Rivera 3yrs for 45 million. 15 mil a year for a closer on the downside. Unreal. I like baseball free agency because its fun to watch the mid market teams over bid on the players they want. Like when Toronto gave BJ Ryan a bunch of money and when small market Kansas City gave Gil Meche 55 mil for 5 years. The Phils gave Adam Eaton a bunch of money too. I hope A-Rod signs in Colorado. Could you imagine the numbers he would put up there? I know it won't happen but it is always fun to speculate.

Tony Clark has emerged as a DH/1B possibility. I've always liked him and I think with enough at-bats he'll be productive. Plus, he's probably a bargain. His 2007 salary was $1,034,000. A certain spare infielder will make that much and be less productive.
