0 sirsunnyslayer
I had mine done last year and it was $50. Go to Marcums HSOforum and there should be all the info you need, including their phone number. Great people to work with.

0 PierBridge
Truthfully I wouldn't sweat it IMO it's not that critical... I'm pretty sure Hanson has a plain-jane LX-3 and it doesn't bother him very much if at all...
0 BIG DS
If you are used to your LX-3 the way it is I wouldn,t worry about it. I did the TC update on my LX-3 the first year it was available and there is really no advantage other than it may increase the trade-in or resale value a bit. From what I have seen, the updated models have not been all that reliable. Something about the new board going out. Mine has worked fine over 2 hard seasons as is gearing up for a third. But if you really want the TC model, save your $50 and buy a new one.
0 Dan DAN the fisherman
Found out, you can still get it done for $49.

Hopefully I'll hear back from them soon.
0 PierBridge
I E-Mailed MarCum Technologies last night and as usual they got back to me early this morning. Back by popular demand the upgrade is available again for $49....

0 Seeker of Clayface
OH NO When I mailed my unit to Marcum last week, I sent it to an address in Brainerd. I must have had old info. Hopefully it gets redirected to Anoka!

I had two go out on me, if you do a search on the boards you will see you are not alone.
0 Reynolds
I sent mine out to Brainerd also last year and didn't have any problems.

Hopefully it gets redirected to Anoka! They may still be doing it in Brainerd too - I don't know. I asked if there was a local place around the Cities and was directed to Anoka. In my experience, Marcum has great customer service. You shouldn't have any problems.
0 BoxMN
Yep, John at Marcum tech services is GREAT and their turnaround time is, well, it takes no time at all. I sent in a unit (bad brushes on LX5) on Tuesday (when I sent it Fedex Ground for $6) and it was returned to me by Friday morning. That is incredible. 0 ChuckN
I was told the Brainerd service center is no longer there as Marcum moved it to the HQ in Anoka. Always call and get a repair reference # and they'll give you the correct mailing address.

Problem was that my first e-mail from them was awhile ago and they listed a Brainerd address to ship to. Got it straightened out now.
0 Blaze
Sent my LX3 in last Weds for the TC upgrade and got it back yesterday. Talk about turnaround time! Were they working on Thanksgiving? I'm very satisfied with Marcum's service. I sent in my unit for the color upgrade and they also gave me a new transducer without asking. IMO, they go above & beyond to keep customers happy with their service and products. THANKS MARCUM!

0 Blaze
Sounds like they must've run out of boards again? You can check with them via email or phone, but someone else mentioned they are NOT doing them anymore as of yesterday, 12/4.Here's the link. I sent Marcum an e-mail on Monday asking about the upgrade and they said that they were not doing anymore at this time but would probably open the program back up in Late February or March. They put my name on a list and are going to contact me when/if the program becomes available again.
