Where to buy muzzleloader supplies?

Other than taking an hour plus drive to either Cabelas stores, where can I find a good selection of muzzle loading supplies close to the southwest metro? I'm looking for powders, bullets, sabots, bits and pieces you "can't live without"....

Would Fleet Farm have this stuff? What about J&S Guns in Lakeville?

Gander in E.P. = No joy. They have the bare minimum. Muzzleloaders Etc. = No joy. Closed until friday.

I'd be on the phone calling around but both my phones are down and I'm posting this via a wireless connection to my neighbors...

I have found everything I needed at Gander EP. What are you looking for specifically? IF you head out to Woodbury there is a Gander and Sportsmans Warehouse right next to each other. You should be able to find what you are looking for.

Fleet Farm should have what you need. At least the one in Alex has always had what I needed when I was there.

muzzleloading has gotten so popular most all the decent sporting good stores carry some, if not a complete line of, supplies.

I wasted enough fuel today running to all these "local" stores I should have just made the trip to Cableas...

My findings from toady's outting...

Gander EP: Unless your gun is happy with shooting the pre packaged bullet/sabot combos they have, this store has basically nothing. When it comes to custom tailoring your loads... forget about it. Individual components are not available. No bullets. No sabots.

Sportsmans Warehouse: I didn't make it here as it would have been just a long a drive as going to Cableas. May have to try here at a later time.

Fleet Farm: Went to the Lakeville location. Not much to speak of here either. Very minimal smoke pole stuff. About the same as Gander in E.P.. Found a good deal on a brick or .22lr's though...

Gander Lakeville: Again, unless you're happy with the pre packaged bullet/sabot combos they have, this store has basically nothing. However, they did have a nice selection of T/C accessories and some top grade handgun bullets in .44 and .45. Now if they only had bags of bulk sabots, my quest would have been over. Alas... I stuck out again.

Thanks for all the help guys. I guess what I am looking to do is more complex than most will do with a muzzle loader. I'm not happy with any of the pre packaged bullet/sabot combos and have gone out on my own to find the perfect load for my gun. Tomorrow.... Muzzleloaders Etc. in Bloomington. If I strike out there, I'm off to Cabelas...

While fuel is expensive, I could think of far worse ways to spend my day. In the context of things, driving around looking for gun stuff isn't so bad!

Before running to Cabela's, try Sportsman's Warehouse... they seem to me to have a better selection of bulk ammo & supplies like you're looking for than Cabela's usually does...

I resorted to http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/ to find some bullets and things. However, to get high pressure sabots I believe I ordered directly from http://www.mmpsabots.com/. Both places had just excellent service.

How about just getting the stuff at a good old fashioned gun dealer? Go to Gander and get some 16 year old tell you what works - don't think so.
