Fleet Farm gift certificates!!!! My wife is getting wiser!! I used to get an assortment of fishing gear and I used to have to secretly go and exchange it. I never wanted her to know I already had most of it. My tackle box is definitely one thing she will surely under estimate the value of if she ever decides to leave me!! smile.gif

My early X-mas present were the three Tiny 20 reels I bought a few days back, with the the wife's knowledge and blessing, of course. I couldn't wait til today to use them, just ask the crappies I caught recently. smile.gif

I didn't get any fishing stuff from the hubby (which is fine because we already have almost everything you possibly need) but I did get the thing I've been dreaming of. He got me a flat panel monitor for my computer. I guess you can call that a fishing tool.... now I can have even more fun on FM.com. He's awesome! wink.gif

Finally got to open our stuff....

Found a Hali spoon and HT jig w/ soft rubber bodies in my stocking (my wife's idea - she hangs them every year).

I was the recipient of a Carhart "artic" full size coat - wife and son teamed up on that - wife said she was tired of seeing out in my beatup old sweatshirts - and youngest son got me a 6" Rapala fillet knife.

Actually.. I recived a few more things I wasn't expecting...

Got one of those fisherman's candy boxes, a rattling promo rapala (NW airlines-- mom works there) a new leatherman, and a travel pack rod and reel combo. Lets see; that brings me up to a total of 15 open water rods wink.gif .

I received a $100 dollar gift card to Thorne Bros. and I purchased 2 new rods, a 28" deadstick and the 36" professional graphite spinnning. Now if only Santa could bring me and my partner a championship on Sunday at the 1st ever national ICETEAM icefishing tournament.

Bobbers down!

Well I got one of those telescoping ball retrievers to help me out when I decide to do a little fishing on the golf course! smile.gif My wife also gave me one of those rechargeable spotlights so I can find my way off the lake at night. I'm still in the market for a rod/gear bag though. Funny, no coal just snowman [PoorWordUsage] in my sock. wink.gif-Troy

Dwight....where do you have room to carry that big bulky hole cleaner?

Usually the auger cleans the hole good if you swish it up and down a few times or squeeze the throttle a little bit after drilling....

Got a neat hanger for my bow, it fastens to the tree above your head and 'telescopes' out, so you can hang your bow in front of you within easy reach. Also got a new winter running suit, is she hinting that I'm starting to get fat?? Also bought myself a couple of Xmas presents, the Ice cleats and standalone Rocknreel off this site. The Rocknreel is on order but if it works half as good as the cleats do...

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
