Guest
On the bucket or tub mounted units, since the reel hangs below the whole works, it doesn't really matter that much whether it's right or left hand. It's more a matter of where you want to mount it (in other words, what side you'll be grabbing your rod from off the unit.) Hope this helps. On the standard (free standing unit) right or left isn't an issue since you can turn the thing either right or left. .......T
Guest
Yes I was talking about the crank sorry. I just figured the crank may hit the shaft if they were on the same side. My bad! I crank with my left hand and that is the side the peg (rocker) is on. I ordered mine that way but I guess is doesn't matter. I am probably just confusing everyone. Fish Toys
It’s great to see another fishingmn family member come up with another product for icefishing! Congratulations T-BONE.Ok now how about a picture? What are the prices? If this batch sells out when will more be available? Sounds like another great product with all positive words being said about it! One thing also you are in the right place to market a new and very useful product! “FISH” ------------------http://www.icesaws.com/
folke2000
WallEYES Good luck on LOW, but sounds like Red is slow. Although it's still nice to be out. Give us a report when you get back.
Grabs
Is there a model that mounts to the wall? I might put a few of these in my house. Or am I better off with a stand alone unit that I can move around from hole to hole and from permanant to portable?
Gissert
Grabs -I have used my stand alone model many times in permanent houses. It actually kept a 35 inch pike from dragging the whole works down the hole one time on LOW.
Guest
Grabs, the tub mounts will mount to the wall, a bucket or whatever. But, you may want to see one before you order it. I know how the holes sit in your permanent and you may need the stand alone units. Either way, they are a great idea!! Scott Steil
WallEYES
GRABS If you mount it to the wall in a permanent shanty your rod and the unit will stick out beyond the wall at least 3 feet, you would be better off buying the stand up model or you could use the bucket model also, keeping it out from the hole sitting on floor. Grabs
Sounds great,..ScottS let me know when you are going to be up at the big pond. We can meet up and I can take a look at yours before I buy them. Sounds like exactly what I am looking for for dead sticking inside the house. Which has been my best presentation Might have to had a small electric motor to jig the rod from time to time also.If you guys are interested in something like this we might be able to come up with something. Maybe go as far as adding a magnetic switch so that when the rod is pulled towards the hole it trips the magnetic switch and then sets off a buzzer. We could make it as simple of as advanced as one wanted. I could see something like this replacing rattle reels in permanent houses.[This message has been edited by Grabs (edited 12-12-2002).]
Guest
I gotta say, I'm not real fond of electronic gizmos to wake you up while fishing. But a proximity switch could be used if you had the target(magnet) attached to your rod butt. I also was fiddling around with a vibration motor made for a beeper too. Runs on one AAA battery. Just a small plastic tag stuck between two contacts would run that setup with a jingle bell attached to the vibration motor. You won't see the r/r's available that way though. It'll be your own mod.......I saw alot of electrical gimmicks and gadgets at the ice show. Bells, whistles, flashing red lights but, thank God, no sirens yet!.....Sometimes you just have to actively fish!........T
Duffman
T-Bone....We actually talked about using the Strike Sensor and the RnR last night. Would be nice to try when I use the RnR as a tip-up in total darkness. We only fished by the glow of the locaters last night, no lanterns or lights. Was wishing I had one of those lighted bobber battery/light combos to tape to the end of the rod.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 13, 2002 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 13, 2002 16 were ordered day 1 and 12 more went yesterday (sight unseen) out of the 40 coming in. Some of the Pro Staff here saw them at the show and jumped right on them. We only have 12 left. My advice to all is get it if you have a shanty to put it in (especially nice for high tub portables). If you don't like it you can return it. But, you will like it if you have a portable to attach it to. Not sure when we'll get another batch in, but we'll let you know that here. For myself, I couldn't wait, I ordered 3 for myself, because I think we'll be out before I can get pictures up for you. Most are buying more than 1 at a time. After we run out we'll just have to wait and see. Take it on my word...if you have a portable you want the Tub/Bucket mount Rock-n-Reel. The Rock-n-Reel can easily be attached to it and folds out of the way when you're not using it. The price for the Tub/Bucket Mount Rock-n-Reel is $12.95. The Stand Alone Rock-n-Reel is the more versatile and also folds up for easy transport. I ordered 3 more Tub mounts yesterday. I had 1 so I'll have 2 Rock-n-Reels for each of my portables. I also have the Stand Alone Rock-n-Reel for more mobile situations or when I go fishing with others. We do not have any of these right now. They sold out of the Stand Alone Rock-n-Reel units at the show.Stand alone Rock-n-Reel is $24.95. Both types will be powerful tools in your Upper Red Lake, Lake of the Woods, Winnie, Mille Lacs, etc. fishing package. They will help you detect even the lightest bites. The Rock-n-Reel will revolutionize the way we ice fish...It's That Good. Call the toll free number during business hours 9-5: 1-866-333-2160 Those of you that know me, will be getting your Rock-n-Reel now, if you can scrape your nickels and dimes together (hint hint). we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted December 13, 2002 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted December 13, 2002 Not yet. Don't worry, I'll let you know when we have pics up for you to see.We only have a few left, so they will most likely be gone by the time I get pics up.I'll also let you know here when we expect to get more in. Right now we just don't know for sure. They went much faster than TBone expected. You can call the toll free number above and order yours before they run out or reserve yours so you are 1st in line for the Stand Alone or Tub/Bucket mount should we run out before you call. You are going to like this Revolutionary Deadsticking System. Fish Toys
Okay people with all this ranting & raving about the Rock-N-Reel I broke open my piggy bank and purchased two of them! Haven’t seen what they look like being I couldn’t make it to the ice show. They have to be good just like all the other great products in the online store. Now I have another problem when do I find time to go? Boy reading the LOW posts and talking to Kingfisher last night it is getting to the point of saying to heck with work and go wet a line! If nothing else someone is going to receive a fantastic XMAS present! (Something I can borrow) One other thing is purchasing items from here helps keep the site free to the fishingmn family members which looks like it is growing immensely and fast! Even listening to Holly’s voice wants you to purchase something. Waiting for the word when the stand-alone Rock-N-Reel is available and get a couple of those also. Have to be ready when the time comes. Good fishing & BECAREFUL with this unpredictable ice! “FISH” MERRY CHRISTMAS! ------------------http://www.icesaws.com/
Guest
I got mine today!! That was fast. I had to be the first one to call though. As soon as I heard there were more available I was on the phone. Fish, don't worry, I don't think you will be parting with yours. They are great!! Guest
ALL: DISCOVERY ~ ROCK'N REEL by T-Bone !I have a Prototype Stand-Alone R'N R here that's autographed by T-Bone from three years ago ( Not for sale at any price - LOL ). The Stand-Alone is the only design i've seen and it will do everything needed. I build a lot of things for myself, but when T-Bone handed me this little beauty I was impressed / simple and deadly ~~~ a fisherman engineering for fishermen - what a package. I know that T-Bone put a lot of time and work into this for getting it just right. Tom has a natural exceptional good character and all good fish-heads should wish him well ~~~ so that he can put together an awesome R'N R ICE FISHING GATHERING one day - LOL. Wishing you the best Tom ~~ God Bless ><>
