MILLER TIME
The switch on my pressure tank started to leak so I went and bought a 20-50 switch. The problem that I'm have is ever since Switching the the switch the water pressure is low out of my garden house. If i read it right the kick in is 20 and kick out is 50 and the tank pressure should be about 2-3 lBs less than the kick in. Is this right? did I do something wrong? I adjusted the kick in hoping this would help but no luck. Any suggestions?
sparcebag
you should have installed a 30-50 switch.I'm not real up on switches, but a 20-50 i've never heard of??

Enids Hubby
The switches come in 20-40, 30-50, 40-60 . Most all new pumps you buy today are 30-50 . Inside the cover of your old switch should say what that one was , should replace it with the same . Yes the tank should be 2 psi less than your cut in pressure . If your not getting the pressure or volume though it has nothing to do with your switch.
MILLER TIME
Sorry about that i meant to say 30-50. I just wasnt sure if i had the right pounds of pressure in the tank. Seems fine at the house but a long hose isnt the same as it was before. Pretty sure its not the well since I just put in a pump this summer. Is there any way to get more pressure? bigdog
Do you have any connections that are between steel pipe and copper? It could be plugged up at that point. If so, install a dielectric union.
sparcebag
If ya got any inline filters I'd check that.I did the same and my whole house inline filter was congested.
Surface Tension
The nipple between the tank and pressure switch might have rust and scale there. Do you have a pressure gauge on the line somewhere so that you can see at what pressure the pump is kicking on and off at? Could be your dropping well below 30 psi and not getting up to 50. Also outside spigot might not have a full gate and you won't get the pressure outside like you do inside.
MILLER TIME
There is a pressure gauge in it and seems to be reading fine. Also I adjusted the kick in sooner to try to help, is this a bad idea? or should i have it at the recomended setting of 30-50?
