Rost
If you do a lot of casting from the bow, it will be the best investment you'll ever make. I wouldn't own a boat without one.
Eric Wettschreck
I have a regular seat on my front casting deck that I will be changing over to a butt pad this winter. It's a huge difference.
BAIT956
I agree completely with Rost. I have had a stand up pedestal in the bow now for several years. If you do a lot of casting, it is great. Be aware that you do have to have a bit more agility and ability to balance yourself than you would if you were sitting. When you get used to it, it is not a problem.
stick
I almost exclusively fish walleyes, and wouldn't fish without a stand up seat. I wish it was even a bit taller, but I just feel more comfortable standing (with this to lean on a bit).
LMITOUT
I always wanted to put one in my last boat but never did. When I got my new boat it was the first thing I did and wish I would have done it in my old boat earlier. I like the flexibility of being able to lower it down and sit on it or raise it up and lean against it...especially when lindy rigging because I like the feel of the line and setting the hook when standing compared to sitting. PerchJerker
Got one, use it all the time. Casting is an obvious application, but I also use mine when live bait rigging, watching bobbers, fishing jigs or blade baits in the river, etc. At times I move it back by my kicker and use it when pulling cranks. It really is a comfortable way to fish, I don't sit down in the boat a lot (but I lean a lot ). Get the tallest one you can (unless you're a short guy). pakrat
I also agree with perch and the rest , get one (or two) .I use one on my bow for all applications and almost never use my regular sit down seat up there . I think you'll enjoy the set up once you use it . Good luck & have fun !!!
HeIsLegend
It is a great investment for you back.
ChuckN
I mimic PerchJerker's post. Your back will thank you. Worth every penny. For fishing walleyes I like it most because I don't get fatigued like I would sitting in a regular seat.
Deitz Dittrich
I have a semi bad back.. and would not be able to fish too long without a pro-pole and but seat... I am mostly a bass guy so being up as high as possible is best and having the chair to more lean against is awesome!
