Loon - Sunfish for Lunch?

Saw this Loon off a ways and it looked like it was struggling with something. When I moved closer I saw what he was dealing with.

Trying to get a grip on lunch.

I got it.

Down the hatch.

Done.

Nice one, HH. That second one gets full marks! I think a bit of saturation would help these flat-light images shine their brightest. I see Mr. or Mrs. Loon is starting to change into winter plumage. Getting to be that time of year. Thanks for sharing this cool series. Great stuff.

I'm going to follow Steve's lead and 2nd the 2nd, so to speak. I was going to ask about the plumage around the bill, but Steve already answered that one. Nice shots.

Steve thanks - I see what you mean - adding some saturation did brighten the shot. It was taken during the middle of the day but grey skies for sure.
