Khane to the 8

What are you guy's thought's on this move?

I think it would be good for him because he seems to be in a big slump this year.

I think it would lessen the blow to bud. Going with a young driver who has a pretty big following.

I thought I heard rumor earlier that Bud was going to go with Evernham and Kahne. I hadn't heard anything about Bud and the "8" though. I was thinking that relationship was over with.

So, is Kahne going to DEI as they own the 8?

Last I heard they were still undecided about the 8 but leaning to a split schedule with Mark Martin in it some. Kahne was talked about, but I also heard Bud going to his 9 car at Evernham. ALL JUST RUMORS as of now.

Evernham's team sure is in dissarray right now though. Their cars are terrible.

Kahne's cars are starting to come around now...this past week he made the top ten, and the week before a top 5.

My wife spends quite a bit of time looking into the Kahne stuff, and from her sources, Kasey is NOT leaving Evernham, and Bud is doing what they can to work out the details with some of the other sponsors on Kasey's car. There are details dealing with Allstate insurance (think about that one for a moment..beer drinking and an insurance company...not the best of pairings, but I think they could start a rock solid prevention program for drinking and driving) and another one with Coca Cola/vitamin water(even though it is NOT beer, it is considered a competitor due to being a "refreshment"

For Budweiser, getting a contract with Kahne would be HUGE!! When vitamin water first came out and was endorsing Kasey, sales went up but not significantly. When Kasey was first FILMED drinking vitamin water, guess what happened? Vitamin water was flying off the shelves, being purchased by the 21 - 30 year old females. vitamin water's sales skyrocketed after that one little clip.

With Ray getting back to working more with the cars, I would not be surprised as the year winds down that all the cars for E.M. will be doing better.

I think the vitamin water angle is a bit of a stretch the recent popularity and increased sales have little if any to do with Kayne.....

But if it makes the wife's happy I'm on board with it!...

I checked jayski's site as they are really up on the rumor mill and didn't see anything mentioned.

I am sure DEI would love to get Kahne in the #8 car, but I just don't see it happening. Gillette / Evernham, or whatever they are called now, would be in big trouble if Kahne were to leave.

let's just say I'll just leave your comment alone about what your wife thinks of how Kasey looks. It would be extremely easy to respond to, but man...could I have fun with that one!!!

As expected, Kahne didn't go to the 8 and Budweiser signed up with the #9.
