On Big Lake in St louis county there is a freswater jellyfish hatch with millions of them on the water. IS THIS NORMAL?! I have never seen such a thing in 17 yrs of fishing all over 3 states. thyre white but for the most part very transparent. I refused to find out if they sting or not....

They dont sting and there not nomal! My wife and I were fishing on Hobson lake near chisholm MN about 8 years ago when we noticed them in the water. At first I thought my gas line was leaking!Thats what they looked like to me,but my wife cought some in a clear bottle and held it up to the sun.Thats when we could see what they were, almost clear and about the size of a dime.We took some to the DNR to find out about them and if there bad for the lake. Two weeks later they told me freshwater jellyfish are rare in northern MN waters and are no threat to the lake I was fishing!

Spork- do you happen to be talking about the Round Lake right across from Horseshoe Lake? If so, thats the lake I'm talkin about!

The Round Lake I'm referring to is about 2 miles from Minnewawa. We've only been up there twice this year and neither times I've seen them. Strange.
