Menards tree stands

Recommended Posts

Has anybody ever purchased tree stands from menards. My wife just called me and told me that she bought a two person ladder stand for $100.00. After i checked both Cabelas and Fleetfarm that stand is $50.00-$100.00 cheaper. Should i have to worry, or just set it up and hunt?

They don't make them... just sell them. I bought a tripod tower there last year for less money than anywhere else and it is well built as far as I can tell.

I say "HUNT"!

Good Luck!

I bought a 2 person for about $80 last year as well. It's a good stand, but as I'd assume all doubles are it's heavy. There were a lot of bolts to assemble it initially, that took quite awhile, but once that was done, it goes up & down as well as any other double. It's plenty solid, I wouldn't worry about that.

You lift a lot of weights?

We've set up (2) of those 2 man ladder stands and they are 2 person jobs! I suppose a guy could risk injury and tr it himself, but I feel they are really a 2 man operation. The instructions say 3, think they know it's a heavy operation? On the flip side, they are comfy and if your son is young, there is ample room for the 2 of you.

Good Luck!

I probably have the exact same stand as you Big Bucks. I'm 6'2", so it is comfy for me, but having someone else in the stand would get pretty tight. For $80, I like it. It took a bit to put it together and I had help from my dad and brother to put it up so it went well. Definitely a 2-3 person job, especially from a safety standpoint, so be sure to get some help.

I was able to put mine up by myself without too much trouble, but I'm 6'1" with monkey arms. I just layed it so the bottom of the legs were exactly where I wanted it to stand laying face down directly away from the tree & walked it up. If it were any heavier or taller, or I was any shorter, I wouldn't be able to do it. If you miss the tree on the tilt you'd just have to let it go & start over, so I wouldn't try it with a house or vehicle or anything within drop range. I'm sure a guy could figure out how to do it with a rope tied to a top rail & thrown over a branch, but it would be a lot of work.
