Jim Hudson
JohnBeaver Dam lake comes to mind along with Mendota as well... Limited time on these waters though... Jumbo perch waters are harder and harder to come by..
IceJohn
I am going to fish Blachawk Lake.Got good info.Has anyone here ice fished this lake?John
fishinJohn
Beaver Dam lake is good for channel cats. Mendota has perch but you run and gun for success. The whole madison chain (Mendota, Monona, Wabesa, and Kegonsa) is decent though. If you want to sit in a crowd try Monona Bay, just a few feet from the road and a few minutes walking to good restaurants downtown. Panfish limit in WI is 20. Talk to Gene at D&S bait on Northport/113 & Troy Dr.
Deitz Dittrich
FishinJohn... do they fish the channels in Beaver Dam lake in the winter?
Cooter
If you get the answer to that one you let me know!!! Altoona by Eau Claire has lots and some true jumbos but is not consistent.
GatorBait
Lake Winnebago has been producing Jumbo Perch consistently the last couple years. This summer/fall was outstanding for them. Did very well, and size was compareable to Upper Minnesota perch. I will be busting them at first ice so keep in touch.
fishinJohn
I did once last year and didn't see anyone else on the lake but also did not catch any however I am new to ice fishing. It's only 6 or 7 feet deep, I have heard there are a lot of bullhead but I have only caught channel cats ranging from 15 to 23 inches. I would not call Beaver Dam a vacation destination but I plan on going there again.
